An area of tropical interest has formed and is currently moving over the Yucatan Peninsula.
95L will most likely not develop into anything, as wind shear is around 30 knots in the Bay of Campeche. Shear is lower further to the north, but high pressure will prevent 95L from turning north.
If 95L were to surprise and develop into a tropical storm, its name would be Emily, and it would be the earliest to form "E" storm on record.
Patches of abnormally dry and drought conditions continue to develop and grow across the country. If the current pattern holds, this could shape up to be quite the dry Summer.
