The latest advisory is in, take a look.
5:00 PM EDT Fri Oct 2
Location: 24.1°N 74.7°W
Moving: N at 7 mph
Min pressure: 942 mb
Max sustained: 125 mph
The reason for the weakening is because that it has been sitting over the same area for so long. This cools the waters which will lead to gradual weakening.
What is more interesting is that it is moving north and speeding up as it does so. The worry is that the high pressure prevent it from going fully out to sea which will allow for the trough to pull it into the east coast. This scenario is still the unlikely one but things are definitely interesting.
