A crazy weather situation in the south is unfolding. Meanwhile, we will have a very warm Christmas.
I'm going to keep this discussion brief as I am monitoring the tornado outbreak in Mississippi. If you would like to monitor with me head over to my twitter and shoot me a follow.
Here our my updated Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Forecast.
I am watching the potential for a storm on the 29th into the 30th. The storm will track to our west but models are indicating that there could be some cold air damming allowing for winter weather. There may even be some coastal redevelopment resulting in additional wintry precipitation.
The picture you see below will change a lot over the next few days. How much cold air comes into the area is undetermined and it will change in the coming days. In my opinion the main threat for our coverage area will be ice not snow. While a brief period of snow early on in the storm is possible, most of the precipitation will be rain, freezing rain or sleet.
