Is a major coastal storm on its way?
The snow today didn't pull through as expected and most areas ended up dry, or with some drizzle.
The weather from tomorrow all the way through Monday looks absolutely gorgeous. Expect sunny skies and highs in the mid to upper 40s.
As we enjoy beautiful weather a low pressure could start to organize itself off the coast of the Carolinas. I expect this storm to do one of two things. One possibility is that it doesn't get itself organized fast enough and is pushed harmlessly out to sea. The other possibility is that the storm head north and strengthens quickly over the unusually warm waters. The low pressure would turn into a relatively powerful storm and we could expect some pretty big impacts. Below are some maps I have made of the two possibilities.
As of right now I'm leaning more towards the one with no impacts. However, things could change as we still have some time to watch this thing.
Another coastal storm system could bring us some rain, possibly heavy for next weekend.
I'm sure at this point in the game your asking, "Wheres the snow!" As we head into the second half of December we could switch to a colder pattern. But before we go into detail on that, I'd like to see what happens with the storm system for next week. So stay tuned for that conversation!
