Is a huge pattern change coming?
The weather this weekend into Monday looks absolutely gorgeous with sunny skies and temperatures a couple degrees above average.
Last night I talked about the potential for a major coastal storm for Tuesday. It now looks as if the European model will end up on top (again) sending the storm way out to sea. Here is the impact map.
For the coverage area I expect a few mixed showers to come through early Tuesday with a coating of snow or sleet possible in some areas.
There is still time for this to change, as it is multiple days out. The latest run of the GFS took the storm further west causing widespread rain and wind for the area.
While this is definitely something to look out for the scenario that I am predicting is much more likely.
There will be another potential storm Thursday night. As of right now I am expecting similar impacts as to the Tuesday storm. Wintry mix showers with a few areas getting a coating of snow and sleet.
As we head into the second half of December I expect a major switch to a much colder pattern. In this new pattern we could expect some decent snow and ice events. I'm going to post that tomorrow so I can make it the best it can be. Stay tuned!
