More snow threats...
The storm definitely over achieved on Long Island. In most areas my forecast verified. Below is a picture of my forecasted snow amounts and actual snow amounts on the right.
Moving forward there will be more snow threats. A monster nor'easter will likely just miss us Monday, with just some light snow. On Long Island there may be more significant amounts.
I'll be monitoring any trends with the models with this storm, as this could be another surprise snowstorm.
We may see a more significant snow event Tuesday into Wednesday. Southern sections of the coverage area have the bets shot at seeing a few inches with this one.
Presidents Day, like Halloween, seems to always be an interesting day in weather. This year won't be any different with strong model and ensemble support for some type of storm February 15th-16th.
We'll just have to wait and see what happens with these storm threats. I'l have a more technical discussion tomorrow where I examine the setup.
