As seen in the radar picture above heavy snow continues to fall over New England and portions of New York and New Jersey. The storm is moving out of the area and below are my predictions for when the precipitation will end.
New York: 5 PM
Hartford: 6 PM
Providence: 10 PM
Boston: 10 PM
Portland: 12 AM
Machias: 5 AM
I am also very concerned about flash freeze. Right now temperatures are dropping extremely fast. If you have slush on your driveway or porch, I recommend clearing it, because by later tonight it is going to turn into a sheet of ice. Many schools and business are most likely going to open late tomorrow. I just hope that road crews are out salting to prevent any accidents.
Looking into the future there are many chances for significant snow storms. The first of those chances is on Thursday. A low pressure system will develop of of the coast and another low pressure will swing in from Canada. If these two storm system combine we could be looking at a powerful nor'easter. Already the European and British models are predicting this scenario. I will have much more details on that storm in the evening update.
