Before I go into the details and technical stuff, if your reading this and don't have enough food to last you through Sunday, buy it now! Assume that you aren't going anywhere tomorrow for the entire coverage area.
Light snow will start to move into the coverage area around 7 PM. Flakes should start to fall in New York City between 8 and 10 PM.
When you wake up Sunday there will be a significant divide in the coverage area. In central New Jersey, Long Island and New York City expect moderate snow becoming heavy as the morning goes on. In far northern sections of the coverage area, snow will be light turning moderate in northern sections of the coverage area. In the afternoon snow rates will increase especially in central New Jersey. Dinner time tomorrow expect heavy snow with blizzard conditions for pretty much everyone. Around 10 pm the snow will start to lighten up but won't be out of the area by Sunday morning.
When its all said and done, I expect 14-24 inches for the southern half of the coverage area, with a very sharp cutoff to the north.
This sharp cutoff has made for a very difficult forecast. Below is my best shot at amounts. However, please note that if the storm tracks just 10 or 20 miles in a different direction, this could completely change the totals.
My thoughts on wind and coastal flooding are the same as last night. If you haven't done so yet, prepare for a TROPICAL STORM!
This is going to be a big one guys. I'll be updating until late tonight on this website and all day tomorrow. Be sure to also follow me on twitter.
