Will winter make a comeback?
Tomorrow and Friday look nice with temperatures in the 40s and 50s. Expect mostly sunny skies, with a few periods of clouds and possibly a few showers.
A cold front will move through Friday night with some rain showers. Saturday morning will be quite cold with temperatures in the 20s, with flurries. By the afternoon, temperatures will struggle to hit 40 and should stay in the 30s in most areas.
On Sunday a low pressure system should develop near coastal North Carolina. The storm will track north throughout the day, strengthening and organizing as it does so. Rain/Snow should start to move into the area, starting with southeastern areas, and ending with northwestern areas during the afternoon Sunday.
Sunday night could bring heavy snow, or it could be dry. How far west or east the storm comes to the coast is unsure at this time. If the storm were to hit the way I think it will, most of the coverage area could be left with several inches of snow by Monday morning.
Obviously since we are several days out, things can go wrong. I'd keep an eye out for the storm potentially going out to sea. I also included the threat of the storm tracking over the coverage area resulting in a rain event.
