Tropical Storm Danny has officially formed in the Atlantic.
As of the 5 PM advisory tropical depression 4 has strengthened into tropical storm Danny. Here is the official one from the National Hurricane Center.
I think this cone is quite accurate and gives us a pretty good idea of what is going to happen. Most likely the storm will be slightly stronger than what this cone I predicting. I expect Danny to become a hurricane by Friday and possibly a major hurricane on Sunday. But since that is all so far out I agree with the NHC being conservative.
Danny will likely hit the lesser Antilles and possibly the Caribbean islands. What is does next is unknown and too far out to predict. So could Danny hit us? I mean there's always a chance but probably not. Hurricane and tropical storms that hit us are usually later into Hurricane season. Even if Danny does affect us it will be 10+ days out and predicting storms that far out is next to impossible.
It has been a very slow hurricane season so far but all it takes is one storm to cause chaos. Be sure to check this blog and follow my twitter for information on Danny everyday.
