The warmth is returning
Well the rain yesterday turned out to be rather lighter than expected. A large dry slot prevented areas in Ocean and Monmouth counties from getting virtually no rain. Nobody really get dumped on despite some overdone radar images.
There will be a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm today but almost everybody should have a beautiful evening. Here is a look at your boring five day.
As you can see the heat will return for Tuesday and will last for the long run. We had a taste of Fall but it will be feeling like July next week. The rain that we did get will help the drought a bit but not a thing that will end these water deficits. A few areas have had a water deficit of 10+ inches.
I think that this warm pattern will continue throughout October. In October I think we could get some big storms which could make it rather wet. This would be great for the drought but it's a big question mark. In November that's when I think we may start to make the shift to more average temperatures but that is also a big question mark.
You can see my Fall and winter forecasts on the seasonal forecast page. This winter is proving to be extremely difficult to forecast so the forecast is with very low confidence. This winter will definitely be an interesting one...
I found this on my computer from last year. Only a few more months!
