Snow storm on its way!
Well the forecast for today busted badly. Areas that I thought would get at least 2 inches of snow got nothing and Central Park only ended up with a trace.
Expect some snow showers tonight into tomorrow.
Tomorrow evening snow will start to move into the area. By around 3 AM snow will have overspread the entire coverage area and could fall heavily at times in central New Jersey and New York City. The morning commute will be very difficult Wednesday with snow still falling in most areas. I expect widespread delays and closings Wednesday. Snow should start to taper off late morning in western portions of the coverage area. The snow should move out of eastern areas, including NYC, in the early afternoon.
When its all said and done I expect as much as eight inches of snow to fall in central New Jersey. In New York City expect about five with less to the north. Some short range models are indicating that the band of 4-8 inches could lift north.
Its a short weather discussion tonight as I spent a lot of time putting together this forecast.
I expect winter storm warning and winter weather advisories to expand north into the coverage area soon.
