Is the quiet weather coming to an end?
Tomorrow will be another great day, followed by two more beautiful days. Saturday night a cold front will pass through and we could see some showers Sunday morning. Don't get too excited because the showers will be spotty and no drought relief is likely.
This cold front will drop high temperatures in the the 70s and low 80s. Things will still be warm but definitely more fall like than recently.
There will be a slight chance of dome showers for next Tuesday but the rest of the workweek looks beautiful.
I am currently monitoring a broad area of low pressure that is currently dumping heavy rains in Florida. This area of moisture is going to move northeast and should be off the coast of North Carolina by this weekend. The NHC gives this area of moisture a 30% chance of development in the next 5 days.
Most models do develop this into at least a tropical depression so I am giving it more of a 50% chance of development. I talked earlier about how a cold front will pass through this weekend. Cold fronts usually push away tropical cyclones so most likely this system will go out to sea. But the cold front may not be strong enough to push this system away and it could move up the coast.
This system is very intriguing for three reasons. The first reason is because of its size. Just look how big this system is! It cloud cover stretches from New England down into the Bahamas. I'm always more interested by large systems because they are not as affected by unfavorable conditions.
